A series of data-rich factsheets on medicinal plant species have been elaborated to support species conservation efforts.
Content
The factsheets are an output of the MAPROW database. Apart from taxonomic and nomenclatural data, the factsheets cover a wide range of information:
- Distribution
- Threat assessments & Population status
- Regeneration & Reproduction
- Habitat range
- Legislation & Regulations
- Utilization
- Commodities
- Trade data
- Common names
Sources of Information
The main body of the factsheet is factual information cited from relevant sources. All information entered is based on scientific literature, including also grey literature and internet sources. The head of the factsheet holds an editor’s summary covering the main conservation focussed aspects.
Species coverage
Presently, some 130 plant taxa in MAPROW are fully researched and have elaborate factsheets. View here for a list of all medicinal plants species with MAPROW factsheet.
